A taster of trance...

With all the publicity that's gonna come from Ibiza getting going and all the festivals revving up, here are some epic trance tracks that will no doubt be played at a club near you.

This may bank holiday brings with it an early festival of epic proportions. Beers in the air for the return of Acid House!! This festival is any ravers dream, it accompanies a large varitey of genres, but mostly innovative/big-now stuff, as diverse as d'n'b: Dillinja, Bugz in the Attic, Fabio; Hardcore: Styles, Hixxy; with promoters such as magazines, VICE, and clubs, the HAT CLUB, much loved in london and the french record label Ed Banger!! There's something for everyone kids. This is a CD from the Gatecrasher club in Sheffield which was organised by Simon Raine, Simon Oates and (until 2004) Scott Bond.

Ladycréme

New mix put forward by the brilliant Brookyln site, abrooklynlife (abl), the podcasts have an electic taste, from detroit techno to minimal, and through to the electro-indie scene. The latter is what features here. The whole new-rave scene, again NME's attempt at starting a new genre, really fell apart after Klaxons, it didn't know where to go. However, thanks to the french, i.e. Ed Banger Records and the lovely Kitsune, the genre is now brimming with life, albeit its not exactly the same music. Electro-indie, house, rave - whatever you want to call it, its massive right now and has many innovative artists emerging. This mix has some great electro, indie-dance and electro-trash thrown into the mix. Lights & Music particularly good at the end. As the website says, Ladycréme are very much peek time DJs and they do it well. If you enjoyed the mix, which is free to download, theres another ladycreme mix and make sure you give DJ Cosmo's mix a listen. It's brilliant.
